Webprosperity Is Getting There

Web Prosperity Is Making Changes Quickly But How Much Did Not Delivering Cost Them?

When Web Prosperity was launched there was quite a lot of backlash about the tools (or lack of). I was one of the first people criticize what I felt was an underdone system and I still stand by what I felt were problems with the Web Prosperity system when it first launched.

During the pre-launch phase of Web Prosperity there was a lot of talk about the Internet marketing tools that would be on offer;

  • Autoresponder with unlimited campaigns
  • Webinar function that would accommodate 2000 people
  • Media component that would allow you to seamlessly upload video and audio to your website.

Once the launch happened a few of the details as to what was on offer with Web Prosperity changed, 2 of the most damaging were; limitations on autoresponder campaigns, and no screen sharing function with the WP Meeting tool.

Why Was This Damaging For Web Prosperity?

Many people had high expectations of what was going to be “the most advanced Internet Marketing Tool Suite” ever put together due to the pre-launch hype and in reality the Web Prosperity Tool Suite was average to say the least. Many people were very sour with the changes that were made to the Web Prosperity plans after pre-launch.

There were over 100, 000 people who had signed up for the pre-launch and this is a fairly strong indicator that there is indeed a want and need for this kind of service in the market place.

I feel that if they had delivered on what they said they would deliver in the pre-launch, the stick rate would have been much higher. There were just 3 areas I feel Web Prosperity needed to get right, and I mean really right, to get off to a good clean start, they are;

  1. Autoresponder - they just needed to stick to there original plan of offering unlimited campaigns to people and people would have been happy. I also feel that they should have had plain and simple opt-in forms available instead of the orange (and sometimes out of place Web Prosperity default forms) and make an option for people to create their own thank you and confirmation pages (so that people were not redirected to the Web Prosperity sign up page).  Essentially what they needed was that the autoresponder functioned like a typical autoresponder. This alone is worth $19.95 per month.
  2. Meeting - screen sharing or a webinar feature was talked about but never delivered, this could have been Web Prosperity’s biggest blunder during this launch. If you say that you are going to offer something, than deliver…end of story. At launch there was a meeting function that was basically a blackboard and it did not have the option for uploading PowerPoint’s or sharing the screen. There are services such a DimDim that are offer this kind of basic meeting tool for free and so to add value for this option it was critical that they had a functioning webinar-like feature. This would add value of anywhere from $49.95 to $99 per month.
  3. Media - This was perhaps one of the least problematic of the whole launch with the video and audio component working very smoothly. There was a very prominent and annoying Web Prosperity logo in the upper right hand corner of the video player which when clicked would lead to the Web Prosperity home page, this should never have been there as some people may have wanted to just promote their main business and not Web Prosperity.

All of these problems could have been avoided with some careful planning and I’m sure a lot more people would have keep their Web Prosperity memberships and would have been more forgiving with some of the other less critical issues that could be improved upon as they grew.

I personally use Aweber and have been using it for a number of years now and I am very reluctant to give it up because it is such a great autoresponder. I also use Oprius from my contact management and as I have commented in other posts on this blog that they are heads and shoulders above the Web Prosperity Calendar and Address Book. You can get a 30 Day Free Trial of Oprius to see what I mean.

Having said that, just using the Web Prosperity Media and Meeting (providing they actually deliver on the meeting function) is still worth the $60 per month. It will cost me a minimum of $19.95 to host audio and video using Audio Acrobat and at least $49 per month and as much as $100 per month for GoToWebinar.

At this stage I’m hanging in there for a change that is going to make Web Prosperity worth my while.

A Welcome Change…

It is nearly 1month since the Web Prosperity launch and today I received an update of some changes that have taken place and that will take place . These changes can only be a step in the right direction although there is a lot more work to be done before Web Prosperity is really a competitor in the Internet Marketing Tools Arena, but I’m hopeful.

What Changed?

The first change was to the number of campaigns that people can set up with the Autoresponder. The people that are using Web Prosperity at the Elite Builders level ($59.95) can have unlimited campaigns and the people on the Premium Builder Package ($29.95) can have 3 campaigns. I still strongly feel that even at the lower level that the campaigns should be unlimited, this should be their ‘Bread & Butter’ product.

The other change was the ability to remove the Web Prosperity logo from the video player. It’s a small change but I’m glad to see it go, that’s for sure.

What Going To Change?

There are a number of changes coming that look very promising (but we can’t get too excited after the let down of the pre-launch hype). Here is the list of what’s coming down the Web Prosperity pipeline;

  • WP Meeting - With all the upgrades you’ll soon be able to hold calls and conferences with up to 1,000 participants. You’ll also be able to record your conferences, and post them on your website for your audience to revisit.
  • WP Media - Soon available in High Definition – put 720p razor-sharp HD quality videos on your own websites, or on your WP Personal Site! And if you are marketing your own products or other businesses, you can switch off the WP promotional logo (which takes your visitors to your WP Personal Site)
  • “Squeeze” Marketing Page - every WebProsperity Member will get their own “squeeze” page (username.getmoreinfo.net where username is your WP username) that lets them build business more rapidly.
  • “Join WebProsperity FREE of charge” - in a matter of days WebProsperity will introduce a program called WebProsperity Affiliate that will be completely FREE to join, and no credit card will be required. Affiliates will get their customized WebProsperity Personal Site and will be able to earn the PaceSetter bonus.

I feel that these changes will go a long way to making Web Prosperity a product and company that is worth promoting. I personally have a short list of things that I would like to see changed;

  1. Customizable Web Forms for the autoresponer
  2. Customizable Thank You and Confirmation pages for the autoresponder
  3. Increased upload limit to 100MB for the Media component

If these things could be implemented along with the other changes that are scheduled then I think that Web Prosperity would actually be a great deal and their growth and stick rate would be phenomenal.

What are your thoughts? What would you like to change about Web Prosperity?

Web Prosperity Spam

So it seems that the Web Prosperity function to email your downline has been activated. Yesterday I received 2 emails from people that I have never heard of in my life. They were apparently in my upline and so I guess they had the function to email those in their downline.

I’m very disappointed that I deleted those email as I could have posted them here. Both emails were pitching some unrelated product. I clicked through the links just to check it out, basically rubbish in my opinion. The thing that annoyed and amused me most was the way the emails were written…absolutely crap.

There was no introduction; “Hi my name is such and such and I’m just touching base to let you know that you are part of my Web Prosperity organization and if you would like any help in regards to promoting your Web Prosperity business here is my number”…nope nothing like that at all.

It was more like; “Web Prosperity is great, my team is booming, keep trying and you’ll get there too! Go buy this product”.

I’m like, “who the heck are you buddy, don’t know you from a bar of soap and I’m glad your business is going but I think I’ll take a rain check on your pitch today and by the way…don’t mail me, I’ll mail you!”

I got 2 of those in one day and thankfully that is the last of them so far. I didn’t even check to see if there was an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email, just trashed it. If there is a next time, I’ll be doing that for sure.

That kind of email I would call Spam, getting an offer from someone I’ve never heard of and never asked to hear from is a definite no no in my opinion, but that’s just me.

Here is an example of an email that I send to prospects that have purchased an information product from me, basically the front end of a funded proposal;

Hi Firstname,

My name is Steve Anderson.

Yesterday you purchased xyz product through my affiliate link and I wanted to thank you personally. I admire people like you that invest in themselves and I wish you the very best.

If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact me. I use the Oprius contact system that helps me manage my contacts, if you go to www.ContactSteveAnderson.com you will be able to enter your details and then I will be sure to get your emails and this also gives you control over receiving my emails.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all.

Wishing you a prosperous 2009!

Sincerely,

Steve Anderson

So far I have only received 2 emails which is nothing to complain about but this does have the potential to turn into a pitch-fest. I just hope that each person on their “upline’s” list has the ability to unsubscribe so the don’t have to be subjected to these rude interruptions from people they don’t even know.

Web Prosperity Testimonials

As much as possible I want to keep this site as balanced as possible. I started this site as a way if keeping a journal of the good and not so good I found in Web Prosperity as I was doing my research. I have a section on this blog where people can log their Web Prosperity Complaints and so I thought it only fair that there be an area where people can express what they feel is good about Web Prosperity.

I’ll get the ball started:

I haven’t had a chance to look over the entire Web Prosperity Tool Suite just yet but the area that has impressed me so far is the media section. It is very easy to upload video and audio and then embed those onto your website. The ease of use is excellent.

What are your positive thoughts on Web Prosperity?

Why Serious Marketers Won’t Use Web Prosperity

January 18, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Web Prosperity, Web Prosperity Complaints

Since Web Prosperity was launched I have been assessing the tools that are on offer and one of the biggest disappointments so far is the limitations of the autoresponder service.

Considering that Web Prosperity partnered with Implix, creators of GetResponse autoresponder service, I’m very surprised indeed.

When Web Prosperity was in pre-launch mode there was a lot of talk about the Internet marketing tool suite and how great it would be for marketers to have all of the essential tools they needed for growing their Internet marketing businesses. From what I have seen so far it’s more about growing a Web Prosperity business than YOUR Internet/network marketing business.

What makes me say that you might ask?

Well the video player for example as a Web Prosperity logo on it and when you click on that it will lead to the Web Prosperity login or home page. Esentially there is nother really wrong with this and many services do this as a way of futher increasing their business. Generally it is not as blatant as the Web Porsperity logo though and in one instance it cover a headline in the first slide of a video that I created…annoying.

For a business that is not interested in promoting Web Posperity, I feel that as a paying customer they should have the option of wether the logo appears or not. The should also have the option for the video to redirect to another page once it has played.

What is more annoying at this point is the lack of flexibility with the Web Prosperity autoresponder. The web form is very limited and I would certainly like to see it much more customisable so that it integrates more easily with a broad range of marketing peices.

Another think that is a promblem in my opinion is the fact that the thank you page has 2 rather large offers to join Web Prosperity as a member or customer. What this has to do with most people’s business is anyone’s guess. In the video below I used the example of a marketer promoting an ebook to stop a dog from barking, that sort of a customer would have absolutely no interest in seeing an offer to join Web Prosperity and in most cases would have no need for it. I like to have control over the thank you pages I send my subscribers to.

Here is a video outlining the Web Prosperity autoresponder process and how I feel it should be:

In another post on this blog; Why Web Prosperity Was a Bum Steer Ian Parkin’s scathing review of Web Prosperity he had said;

Then, my growing dissatisfaction was with the realization that the suite of tools was really only of use to promote WebProsperity as a business opportunity. It seemed in prelaunch that this was going to be a great internet marketing tool kit for use in whatever I choose to market. In so doing, that in itself, made the business opportunity appear to have REAL VALUE.

But, not so good! These tools seem unusable outside of promoting WebProsperity’s MLM. And in that, the business opportunity becomes just a shallow money game which will obviously implode upon itself rather quickly.

At this stage I’m starting to feel that Ian was right on the money with this one and if Web Prosperity doesn’t change some of these things and quick, they won’t be around very long.

Since the pre-launch of Web Prosperity I have been following it as I was very interested in using the tools and promoting it as a business if the tools lived up to expectations.

I have been unhappy with a few aspects of Web Prosperity and others have be more than unhappy, they are totally peeved off.

If you have any complaints about Web Prosperity feel free to air your thoughts!

If on the other hand, you have a glowing Web Prosperity Testimonial then you can go to this page to let us know you positve experience.

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Steve A.
